Henman, Beks, Campbell & Green in Concert
Saturday, May 18th, 2026

Henman, Beks, Campbell & Green brings together four distinctive voices from Atlantic Canada’s songwriting community for a special evening of songs and stories shared “in the round.”

Jim Henman, Jeannie Beks, Robert Campbell, and Cailin Green each bring decades of songwriting, performing, and recording experience to the stage. Taking turns in the classic songwriter-circle format, the four artists share original songs & a few ‘covers’, the stories behind them, and the occasional harmony or collaboration that happens naturally when great writers gather in one room.

Audiences can expect an intimate and engaging performance where humour, insight, and craft are as much a part of the evening as the music itself. With influences ranging from folk and roots to contemporary acoustic songwriting, the result is a rich and varied night of music shaped by the voices and stories of Atlantic Canada.

Tickets: $25 – For tickets call or text 902-227-7456

Whether on a theatre stage, at a festival, or listening-room setting, Henman, Beks, Campbell & Green offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience four accomplished songwriters sharing the spotlight — and the songs that have shaped their journeys.

Jim Henman

Jim Henman (www.JimHenman.com) is a founding member of the iconic Canadian rock band April Wine and has been an influential figure in Canadian music for decades. As a songwriter, guitarist, and recording artist, he helped shape the early sound of the band before continuing his own musical path through solo recordings and live performance. With multiple albums to his credit and years of touring experience, Henman brings a deep well of musical stories and songs to the stage. His performances reflect both his rock heritage and a thoughtful songwriter’s perspective developed over a lifetime in music.

Jeannie Beks

Jeannie Beks is a folk-pop songwriter whose music combines heartfelt storytelling with a strong and expressive voice. Known for her warm stage presence and engaging performances, she draws audiences in with songs that balance honesty, humour, and emotional depth. Growing up in a musical family — she is the sister of Jim Henman — songwriting has always been part of her world. Jeannie’s performances highlight her ability to connect with listeners through thoughtful lyrics and memorable melodies.

Robert Campbell

Robert Campbell (RCampbell.com) is a songwriter, keyboardist, and recording artist whose work spans many years of performing, recording, and collaborating with other artists. He has released multiple albums and toured widely while continuing to develop his craft as a songwriter. As half of the duo Campbell + Green, he has received international songwriting awards and nominations for their original music. Robert is also known as a songwriting mentor and as the host and producer of the radio show and podcast Songwriters From Here and Away, where he celebrates songwriters and the stories behind their songs.

Cailin Green

Cailin Green (CailinGreen.com) is an accomplished songwriter and vocalist whose powerful voice and musical sensitivity have made her a respected presence on stages across Canada and Europe. In addition to her work as a performer, she is an experienced choir director and vocal leader. As part of the duo Campbell + Green, she has released multiple albums, earned international songwriting awards and recognition for their original music. Cailin’s performances combine strong vocals with thoughtful songwriting and a natural ability to connect with audiences.

Jon Mullane

Jon is one of Canada’s most consistently compelling voices in modern rock, pop, and country – has released ‘The Road’, a five-song EP produced by Toronto’s Creighton Doane, available now on all major platforms. It is Mullane’s first artist-centric collection of new original songs since the pandemic, and it arrives with the confidence of an artist who knows exactly where he has been and exactly where he is going.

The road that led to ‘The Road’ ran through Nashville. Mullane spent the better part of two years travelling between his home in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia and Music City, reconnecting with old collaborators and forging new ones, and finding in that creative environment the inspiration to write songs that felt genuinely close and personal. Four of the five tracks were co-written in Nashville, including work with Grammy-nominated hitmaker Michael Dulaney – whose credits include Faith Hill, Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, and Rascal Flatts among dozens of others – and Michael Jay, the songwriter and producer behind Martika’s Number One Billboard hit “Toy Soldiers”, whose work spans Celine Dion, Eminem, Gloria Estefan, and New Kids On The Block. For Mullane, being back in Nashville normalised what he has always known: “It’s just everyday business there, as opposed to most other places in the world, and feels right to me.”

Dave Carroll

Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dave Carroll is a Canadian songwriter, author, social media pioneer and the creator of a one-in-a-billion story, United Breaks Guitars.

Dave’s latest album, Until One Day, is a collection of 11 original and inspiring songs written with the intention of bringing people together. It is nominated for the 2022 ECMA for Contemporary Roots Recording of the Year. The first single, When The World Stops Ending, was co-written with Halifax producer and musician Jamie Robinson, over Zoom during the first Covid-19 lockdown. Until One Day, marks Carroll’s first new collection of songs since his 2012 album Raincoat in Vegas.

“I want the enduring effect of listening to music to be that people are reminded that we have more in common with each other than we don’t. The songs on Until One Day share a common thread of promoting love, kindness and compassion. The trick, as a songwriter, was to find different ways to share that story. In this case, I found 11 of them. Storytelling is the tie that binds it all together for me” says Carroll “and our lives are peppered with a relatively small number of defining moments that stand out in our journey. In every good story those meaningful moments are preceded by some variation of the words ‘until one day.’ It is that moment when you’ve had enough or something happens to set you off in a new direction. I’m hoping people like the music and the intention behind this one, as it contains some of the best songs I’ve ever written. More than that though, the world needs music that brings us back together. Until One Day is my attempt to do that.”

Geoff Arsenault

Nova Scotia’s Geoff Arsenault is widely regarded as one of Canada’s finest roots drummers and a deeply compelling songwriter in his own right. A veteran touring and recording artist, Geoff has spent decades bringing his unmistakable groove, musical intuition, and understated style to stages across North America, Europe, and the UK. Equally at home behind the drum kit or front and centre with a guitar in hand, his music blends swampy blues, folk, Cajun, Tex-Mex, and soulful East Coast storytelling into a sound that is both timeless and distinctly his own.

Over the years, Geoff has collaborated and toured with an impressive list of acclaimed artists including Matt Andersen, Mary Gauthier, Amy Helm, Alejandro Escovedo, Ray Bonneville, Colin Linden, Michael Kaeshammer, and Rita MacNeil. His playing has been heard at major folk, blues, and jazz festivals throughout Canada and abroad, earning him a reputation as a musician’s musician — tasteful, versatile, and deeply soulful.

As a solo artist, Geoff’s recordings showcase rich songwriting, sly humour, and lived-in authenticity, drawing comparisons to the laid-back grooves of J.J. Cale and Tony Joe White. Whether performing solo or alongside fellow masters of the craft, Geoff Arsenault delivers roots music with warmth, depth, and irresistible rhythm.

Manitoba Hal

Manitoba Hal is one of Canada’s most distinctive and entertaining blues artists — a masterful guitarist, ukulele player, and songwriter whose performances effortlessly bridge deep traditional blues with modern roots storytelling. Known for his expressive vocals, fingerstyle playing, and magnetic stage presence, Hal has become a favourite on festival stages, in intimate listening rooms, and at blues gatherings across the country.

Drawing inspiration from blues legends such as Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters alongside Canadian songwriting greats like Gordon Lightfoot and Stephen Fearing, Manitoba Hal creates music that is earthy, witty, soulful, and unmistakably authentic. His original songs balance humour and heartbreak, while his interpretations of classic blues standards honour tradition without ever sounding dated.

A seasoned performer and educator, Hal has appeared at blues and folk festivals throughout Canada and has shared stages with many respected roots and blues artists during his years on the road. His performances are filled with stories, spontaneity, and remarkable musicianship — whether delivered through slide guitar, fingerpicked acoustic blues, or the warm, surprising voice of his beloved vintage ukulele. NOTE: Hal will be giving a Ukulele workshop too!

Audiences consistently connect with Manitoba Hal’s ability to make every room feel personal and every song feel lived-in. Honest, engaging, and deeply rooted in the blues tradition, he brings both reverence and fresh energy to the music he loves.

Chuck Brodsky
Tuesday, July 21st, 2026

Chuck Brodsky is one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary folk and Americana music, celebrated for his rich storytelling, wry humour, and deeply human songs. Originally from Philadelphia and now based in North Carolina, Brodsky has spent more than three decades building an international career, performing at festivals and concert stages across the USA, Canada, Ireland, England, Denmark, Israel, the Baltic states, and beyond. His extensive touring and consistent output since the mid-1990s have earned him a devoted global following, along with honours such as the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Award.

A master of narrative songwriting, Brodsky is especially renowned for his remarkable body of baseball-inspired songs. An extraordinary 22 of these story-songs have been enshrined in the sound recording archives of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum—a rare and significant cultural achievement that reflects his ability to capture the heart and history of the game. His songs have reached wide audiences through film and television, and have been recorded by a diverse range of artists, including Kathy Mattea and the African Children’s Choir, further underscoring the breadth and impact of his songwriting.

Throughout his career, Brodsky has remained a fiercely independent and authentic voice, unafraid to explore social, political, and deeply personal themes with both insight and wit. His catalogue includes recordings produced in collaboration with acclaimed East Coast musician J. P. Cormier, adding another layer of artistry to his already rich body of work. With a career spanning over 30 years, international recognition, and a legacy that bridges music, storytelling, and cultural history, Chuck Brodsky continues to be a compelling and relevant figure in modern folk music.

ECMA and Music NS multi award winning, touring & recording artist playing guitar and piano and blessed with a great sense of humour too.
Bad ideas, VCRs, crumbling factories, terrible therapists, hairy dogs, wrinkled shirts, French fries, questionable tattoos…all are fair game for Nova Scotian funeral director-turned-songwriter Terra Spencer. And the songs are good ones, judging from the stack of awards her three albums have received, and from the caliber of her collaborators, which include David Francey, Ben Caplan, and Matt Andersen. Although her butterscotch voice, deft fingerstyle guitar, and gospel-charged piano make her a formidable musician, it’s her onstage ease and crackling wit that make each show feel like a knee-to-knee conversation in a room of 5 or 500. “The real deal.” – Ron Sexsmith
